aside from me being born 30 years ago, what happened...on the great day of August 15th...


8.15.1982 -->  President Reagan fives approval to American participation in the multinational force that is to oversee the departure of Palestinian guerrillas from West Beirut.  
-->Sparked by a further decline in interest rates, The Dow-Jones leaps some 38.81 points - the biggest one-day game in the history of the New York stock exchange - ending the day at 831.24


here are some other events that occurred on this day way back when...but remember what is the most important that happened, that would be the birth of me!


8.15.1965 --> The Beatles play to nearly 60,000 fans at Shea Stadium in New York City, in an event later seen as marking the birth of stadium rock.


8.15.1972 --> Ben Affleck was born


8.15.1969 --> The Woodstock Music and Art Festival opens.  


8.15.1945 --> World War II: Japan surrenders to end the war. 


8.15.1843 -->Tivoli Gardens, one of the oldest still intact amusement parks in the world, opens in CopenhagenDenmark.

8.15.1907 --> Ordination in Constantinople of Fr. Raphael Morgan, first African-American Orthodox priest, "Priest-Apostolic" to America and the West Indies.
