...orthodoxy...i am glad i am one :)

day 253...

...today i while sitting in church, i looked around and thought...how much i love being orthodox...now i am not for labels...God is God...but i like my label if i was going to have one...there is nothing better than the smell of an orthodox church...it almost brings an instant peace when you walk through the doors...the traditions that have been passed on from generation to generation...the prayers and chanting that allow for you to become closer to God...there is just something about it...

...some of my favorite memories involve the church...i remember being a part of the christmas play as one of three wise-men...or attending sunday school and learning every single book in the bible, or being able to recite the creed word for word, or having an overnight on Holy Friday with some of thee best people, having snowball fights after church was over...even just learning about who we are on sundays only to carry it to our little corners of the earth and share & learn of others' faith...

...aside from learning my spirituality...i have also met and become friends with some of thee most amazing people by being orthodox...people from right in my backyard to those that live across the country and no matter what or how much time...when we come back together it is as if no time has passed...it is the best...people who are there to celebrate with you in the good times & hold you in the not so good...

...yeah, in church today, i looked up & said thank you for being a part of this, being orthodox...
