...traditions are passed down from generation to generation...recipes are passed on, holiday fun is passed on...little nuances that tie one generation to another...all these little moments, little happenings that connect generations from one to another...
...amidst the recipes, the language, the philosophies, the things we preserve in our hearts & memories there is also traditions of fun, those times when a small tradition starts out of pure fun and it carries through...you know what i mean, those are the ones that when someone brings it up your heart instantly smiles...
...i have one of those (probably more than one) but today this one stuck out...a few years back my sister & i were shopping in american eagle...and all of sudden my phone rings, and its my mom...and without a word, she starts to sing, "i just called to say i love you (yes stevie wonder)...& i lose it, i am laughing so hard that i can't even talk to tell my sister what happened...so from that moment, a tradition started...& every once in awhile a random phone call with the song blaring or someone singing their own rendition will come from me, or my mom & it just so happens to come at the best time...what a tradition...
...so to all the those traditions that i hold near & dear, this one, that was just pure fun, i store & hold on to in a very special place...& know that there is always a special song playing my heart...
